Re-Cap of Sasha’s Birthday Party at Stitchin’ Post!
Sasha got the birthday celebration any diva deserves when she turns 3! On September 6 all her friends came with bags of pet food for Faithful Friends, and received fans and prizes. Well-wishers wrote birthday greetings with crayons for Sasha, and enjoyed refreshments from Caniche, Okey Dokey, and L A Murph’s. Pam Coffield, Jo McDaniel, Sherry Lowery, Lisa Murray, Brittany Burleson, and Patti Miller  were the gracious hostesses for the celebration. A lot of foster animals had reason to celebrate when they got their donated treats, food and toys! Stitchin’ Post donated part of the day’s proceeds to FFAS, and sold special t-shirts (still available see below) to mark the occasion. Faithful Friends came home with $1,400! Thank you all for a day not to be forgotten!

About the Clinic
The Ruth and Don Webster Spay/Neuter Clinic & Adoption Center was born of the idea that Rowan County needed a surgical facility that could partner with a non-profit organization to offer low-cost spays and neuters for dogs and cats. The doctors and staff of Lazy 5 Vets perform surgeries at the clinic at a low cost due to financially-efficient operations and financial support.

Hope has a home!

It's been four long months since Lea Rhodes found Hope on the median of I85 with two badly broken hips and a severe mouth injury. During her recovery, Carol and Don Turner in Wilmington have been sending Hope care packages. They came to visit last week, and it was love at first sight. Hope is joining Pogo and Daisy as part of the Turner family.

Thank you to the Humane Society of Rowan County, who paid for her care, and all to the kind-hearted people who sent in donations to help. She is worth it!

The Rescuers Creed

I promise I will take unwanted animals.
I will heal their wounds, their diseases, their broken bones.
I will give them the medical attention they need and deserve.
I will nurture their starvation, and give them a warm place to sleep.
I will spay and neuter them, and vaccinate them against the diseases that can harm them.
I will treat them and honor them. I will buy them toys, blankets, balls, and teach them to play.
I will speak softly to them. I will try to teach them not to fear, not to cry, not to fear, and not to hate.
I will whisper sweet, kind, gentle words into their ears, while gently trying to stroke their fear, their pain, and
their scars away.
I will face their emotional scars and give them time to overcome them.
I will socialize them, potty train them, teach them to be obedient, show them dignity, and hold their paws, and
stroke their ears if they have endured too much, and walk them over the Rainbow Bridge.
But most of all , I will teach them Love.
