These second graders from Salisbury Academy, with the help
of their friend Erika, raised $248.43

The Kindergarteners and Junior Kindergarteners of Salisbury
Academy collected a mountain of cat and dog food for Faithful Friends foster
homes. Fantastic!
This month they are collecting grooming items!
Hanford Dole Helps Faithful Friends!
The student body at Hanford Dole Elementary School collected over $300
in donations for Faithful Friends,
along with lots of toys for our pets! On February 18 volunteers Lora
Owen and Anne Ingram were pleased to
be invited to speak to the students about what Faithful Friends is
all about. Service dog Sue and her person Jan Lewis were big hits with
the kids!
March 1: Peticure for Paws raises over $300!!
Uptown Dogs & Cats at 1945 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. clipped nails
for a variety of dogs and one brave cat, and
donated all the proceeds to Faithful Friends!

Historic Salisbury Foundation Tabletops Fundraiser: Faithful Friends
Has Fun!
Irene Beyer and Jeanne Dennis created a dog park theme, with dog
houses with our adoptable dogs pictured, and photos of adoptable
cats nestled in the trees! Yes, those doggie serving platters are
frisbees!
 
May 10, 2008: A Dog Day in May: Pet Adoptions!
Two cats got new homes, and we received over $220 in donations!
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped, to the folks who donated
pet food for our foster homes, to Officer Hunter and Smoke of the
Salisbury K-9 Unit for their demonstration, and to Kristine Dutton

Parks & Recreation for sponsoring the adoption day!

Buy a meal at the Chick-Fil-A on East Innes St. ONLY, from 5pm-9pm,
and we get a percentage of the sales
June 14, 2008 : Pick of the Litter Yard Sale & Lazy 5 Vet
Open House, 3-6pm
Thank you all for helping make the yard sale a success. We raised over
$2400 from the yard sale and additional money from the sale of T-shirts,
cards,bumper stickers,pet tags and donations. Anne also spent time at the
Lazy 5 Veterinarian open house event yesterday and raised additional money.

Annual Faith and Spencer Jaycees Poker Run - Hogs for Dogs
The Faith and Spencer Jaycees 'Hogs for Dogs Poker Run' brought out 150 riders
and brought in $3,100 for Faithful Friends!

What a blast! We had a huge turnout, got a mountain of food, and
supplies, and raised over $900!
Julie Apone, you are the best! Thank you more than I
can say, and thanks a million to all our volunteers and our
friends who came out.

Post in Salisbury, Sasha's
Birthday Celebration
Sasha got the birthday celebration any diva
deserves when she turns 3! On September 6 all her friends came with
bags of pet food for Faithful Friends, and received fans and prizes.
Well-wishers wrote birthday greetings with crayons for Sasha, and
enjoyed refreshments from Caniche, Okey Dokey, and L A Murph’s.
Pam Coffield, Jo McDaniel, Sherry Lowery, Lisa Murray, Brittany Burleson,
and Patti Miller were the gracious hostesses for the celebration.
A lot of foster animals had reason to celebrate when they got their
donated treats, food and toys! Stitchin’ Post donated part
of the day’s proceeds to FFAS, and sold special t-shirts (still
available see below) to mark the occasion. Faithful Friends came
home with $1,400! Thank you all for a day not to be forgotten!

lunch, we made over $3000!
Christmas Barbecue for Critters!

Event co-chairs Mary Padavick and Peter Reinemann outdid themselves, making this
year's Pick of the Litter yard sale the most successful yet! Our
crew of stalwart volunteers was there from 6 am on, and did a fantastic
job. We owe a huge debt of thanks to St. John's Lutheran Church
for allowing us to use their building and parking lot, to Antiquarius, American
Express, Oliver Scott, Food Lion, and Harris Teeter, More details and photos
wil lbe forth coming, but we wanted you to know the totals right away!

The generoisty of Jean
McCoy and Rick Travis really brought in the bucks for FFAS! More
than 60 people enjoyed coffee, cookies and took home flowers from
their 3 acres of lush gardens. Lorene Coates was an honored guest.

5. Sasha’s Birthday Party, Stitchin’ Post
Sasha's birthday party at the Stitchin Post today was a blast!
The guest of honor greeted her guests in a most regal manner. The
ever-growing pile of donated food filled five cars and went to
some very grateful foster homes. The Stitchin' Post is generously
donating part of their sales from both Friday Night Out on the
Town and also from today to FFAS. We brought home $415.18 in donations
and sales ourselves! Many thanks to the hard-working volunteers
and generous friends who donated their help as well as pet food.
Sept 26, Paws in the Park
The event will be at Knox Middle School, 1625 West Park
Road. Registration and check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the 1.5 mile
walk will start at 10:30 a.m.

24 10:30am- Dress up Dog Parade to Benefit Faithful Friends

The heavy rain didn't deter a number of beautifully
costumed canines at Carolina Lily's parade on October 24. We are grateful
to them for the fun and for their generous donations Proceeds were
over $400 this year! Thanks also go to Carol Allen for taking photos
of the princess, bees, fairies, cowboys, farmer, cow, and the skunk,
and to Shannon Moore for donating pumpkin goodie bags to participants.
Angel Trees: Ornaments
listing items from our Wish List are on these Christmas trees. Monetary
donations can be placed in the pre-addressed envelopes under the
trees. Locations: Looking Glass Artists Collective at 405 N. Lee
St. in Salisbury, Outback Steakhouse, Stitchin' Post, and Uptown
Dogs and Cats at its new location on Statesville Blvd. The trees
will be in place until 12-20-09.
Bake Sale: Saturday, December 5, in front of the Stitchin'
Post.
Christmas Barbeque: Those gallant chefs for charity at the VA have chosen
Faithful Friends as the recipient of their barbequed cuisine again this year.
You can order a whole chicken for $20, a whole turkey brest for $30, or a whole
Boston butt for $30. They are hickory smoked, and come with buns and dip. All
orders must be in and paid for in by 12-11-09. You can pick up your order from
4 pm to 6 pm at the VFW on Brenner Avenue on December 24th. Place orders by calling

FURBALL: DISCO FEVER! Get ready to boogie, because our Fur Ball 2010: Disco Fever is a dance
that won't be soon forgotten! We'll be partying down at Catawba College's
Crystal Lounge on February 27 from 6:30 to 11:30. Get out your
shoulder pads, gold medallions, and leisure suits, and do the hustle
to the
sounds of Divided by Four, Rowan's favorite band!
